Foyers Phénix,  a Family-Based Psycho-Educational Environment

At Phénix Homes, our mission is to create a psycho-educational setting within a warm, family-like atmosphere for individuals with intellectual and psychological disabilities. In a dignified and welcoming home, residents live alongside professionals specialized in education, psychology, and social support. Each psychoeducator is responsible for a small group, allowing for personalized, close-up support. Residents actively participate in daily tasks of family life and benefit from a structured Day Program designed to promote socialization, physical activity, and learning. Every resident follows an individualized plan tailored to their needs and abilities. Through a variety of activities, we aim to strengthen:

  • Personal autonomy: hygiene, dressing, meal preparation and eating, household care, mobility, shopping, making choices, and developing hobbies and self-sufficiency.
  • Social skills: communication, interaction, daily routines, respect for others, understanding civil rules and adaptive behaviors for integration into society.

Our residential homes in Bikfaya welcome individuals who lack family support or face significant challenges within their environment. We often hear heartbreaking concerns from parents: “I hope my child doesn’t outlive me… because I don’t know who will care for them after I’m gone.”
Phénix responds to this cry for help by offering a true family substitute — a safe, stable, and loving home.

This is a life commitment, rooted in our deepest conviction that every human being, regardless of their abilities, holds absolute value and has the right to live with dignity and fulfillment.

Eva KHOURY

Despite his challenges, my son experienced extraordinary moments at He made real progress in his development, especially in communication, and most importantly, he felt surrounded by a family of caring professionals.

From the very beginning, I was actively involved in the founding of Phénix driven by the deep belief that such a place could offer hope and support to other families like mine. To this day, I continue to fight so that Phénix can grow and continue to be a refuge—a place where children are not only helped, but truly loved and understood.

Phénix gives me something priceless: the feeling that my son's future is safe.
